Who needs you?
Writers who: 1) have read their manuscript(s) over and over until they’re googly-eyed; 2) need a new, slightly less subjective audience than their friends and family; 3) hope to have work published as a trade children’s book.
Who are you?
I am Amy Lin (formerly Amy Hsu). I’m an eight-year veteran of Little, Brown and Company, where I reviewed, pitched, acquired, and edited all kinds of projects for ages 0 to 18. I’m well acquainted with the life of a book as it progresses from manuscript to bound book and passes through editorial, copyediting, design, production, marketing, and sales along the way. I’ve attended trade shows such as ALA, BEA, IRA, TLA, and NCTE, and I’ve spoken and critiqued at SCBWI conferences all over the country. I have taught and tutored writing at the university level. I also have library experience, as well as bookselling experience at three retail stores (chain and independent). Here are a couple of relevant lists.
